“By reinventing the Zénith icon, Mille Fleurs plays on the tension between soft curves and sharp lines, between a precise, almost architectural structure and a decorative richness with a baroque spirit.” Bethan Laura Wood
Baccarat unveils Mille Fleurs, the result of a collaboration with British designer Bethan Laura Wood. Renowned for her passion for color, material and craftsmanship, she offers a contemporary reinterpretation of Baccarat’s Zénith chandelier, originally designed in the mid-19th century.
Bethan Laura Wood deconstructs this icon of light to draw a new silhouette, drawing from Baccarat’s archives, she revisits the emblematic codes of the Zénith – twisted arms, octagons and prisms – enriching them with floral elements from the Maison’s repertoire and signature components from her own artistic universe.
The chromatic palette intensifies this expression. Clear crystal dialogues with color – olivine, parma violet, amber, turquoise – revealing an organic creation with an assumed extravagance.
Within the Mille Fleurs collection, are two wall lights, “Frog” a four Bulb lamp creates a open lantern form, cleverly using its reflective back plate to give a feeling of open lattice work. The seconded ‘Owl’ highlights the pinch diamond a new component by Bethan, which can be orientated both horizontally and vertically.
